Janice Alton is the co-chair of Voice of Women for Peace and a strong voice for justice and the feminist joy of sharing this journey with multigenerational change makers. There are many articulate on-line interviews and you can find more information about her here .
Janis was one of thirty women peace makers from 15 countries who made a historic crossing of the two-mile wide De-Militarized Zone from North to South Korea on May 24th, 2015...the International Women's Day for Peace and Disarmament.
Here she is with Ronny Yaron, who in her own words, experiences herself as a youthful activist, decades younger than her age.
She make the yearly trip to the United Nations so young/old/ and in between feminists can have this opportunity through the organization. She has relentless hope when it comes to demilitarization and Canada's ratification of the Nuclear Ban Treaty. We need this hope. Leaky oil pipelines for billions is not right thinking or life giving.
Here, we are at the Cafe Olympia where the VOW delegation met in the mornings to de-brief. I am so grateful for her commitment to peace and her relentless effort to make this UN experience meaningful, varied, fun and wonderful. Thank you, Janice. Doug must have been smiling down at you...with love and joy. You are a remarkable woman.
